Should I Turn In My Claim?

It's a Property Claim

Check your property deductible and compare that with what you estimate the property claim would be. For instance, if your deductible is $500 and someone vandalized the front of your store, you need to estimate the amount of the repairs. Also, keep in mind that loss of business income does not apply for three days so it may not be applied to your claim. If the amount of the repairs were $700, you have every right to turn the claim in but may decide not to in order to continue to apply loss free discounts to your policy. Turning in a property claim is your choice. If you are unsure of what to do, contact us and we will give you any information we can to help in your decision.

It's a Liability Claim

Because there is no deductible on your liability policy with Insurtec, our policy requires that you contact us as soon as practical of an "occurrence" or an offense which may result in a claim. It is important that you do not attempt to settle a claim yourself as this could greatly impair our ability to defend your business. Also, you will not be penalized for reporting a possible claim that never materializes.
